One can replace plastic containers with glass or stainless steel equipment which can be used to reheat and store food, and they don’t have side effects on metabolism.

  1. Aluminum Foil

The use of aluminum foil to heat and store food is a practice that has a long history. It is important to understand that aluminum foil contaminates food with aluminum metal. Consequently, the stomach experiences low levels of acid, indigestion, impeding protein and acid-based minerals breakdown.

Instead of using the aluminum foil and risk having a slow metabolism, people can use unbleached parchment paper, which can serve the same purpose. But if aluminum foil is the only one available, it should not have direct contact with the food.

  1. Cast Iron Cookware

Increased iron in the body can inhibit the normal functioning of the body system. The inability of the liver to eliminate iron from the body can cause the metabolism to slow down. Cast iron cookware contaminates most acidic foods with iron leading to various health issues affecting the liver, brain, and heart. Instead of cast iron, one can use clay cookware or the enamel-coated utensils because they are safer than iron.

The non-toxic kitchen utensils might be a one-off investment that can change an individual’s health for a lifetime. If one really wants to live a healthy life, they should invest in quality kitchenware without a second thought.
